I design things that enrich people's lives. Working closely with each client, whether it is a lean startup team for an app or Rihanna's merchandise company, I connect products and brands to their customers through user experience and visual design practices.
Seeing fans purchase, wear and rave about work I've created is very rewarding. Sometimes I receive email from someone excited about a tour program they just picked up at a concert, or a fan showing off their tattoo of a band's artwork I created. Online product reviews are great, too—"This one rules!" and "A perfect tee to commemorate a killer song!" were written by ARTISTdirect to advertise System of a Down tees.
I am passionate about preparing the next wave of designers for success, and currently teach design classes at City College and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.
Working with great business partners and team members is essential for meeting project goals and makes each job more fun. Hear what collaborators have to say about working with me:
"[Deanna's] ability to balance projects at both the macro and micro levels makes working on her team incredibly rewarding—her creative vision, ability to listen to others, and focus on practical project needs is just simply rare in the design field."
– Jess Sand, Marketing Strategist & Copywriter
"[Deanna] did an outstanding job leading our group to fully utilize each individual's skill set and to complete the project on time. Deanna was easy to communicate with and her web and graphic design skills made for a beautiful website."
– James Lin, Web & Graphic Designer
"This class has really helped me to improve my design skills, gave me a chance to utilize and enhance my knowledge. I feel very confident about a developed design process in approaching any design problem. The teacher is very knowledgeable and helpful. It's my favorite class this semester. And it's also the most valuable as well."
– Y.Z., Graphic Design Major
